I am sorry to say, because I love this version overall, but I felt that the Jane in 95’s BBC version totally missed the mark. She was plain looking (I thought she would have made a better Mary) and boring. I felt as though Lizzy was significantly prettier in this version. I think my favorite Jane was from the 05 version as played by Rosamund Pike
I love all of them in their own way. Jane in ‘95 was so innocent and acted so well as the one who thinks everyone is nice. I think the ‘05 Jane is very very pretty
the ‘80 Jane is average on all aspects – ok in looks, ok in acting. I haven’t seen the ‘40 version of P&P yet so I can’t judge that one yet.
