I just looooove "Lost in Austen".
My mother told me some time ago about a series where Elisabeth would switch places with a girl from todays London and finally a found it about a year ago.
I don't know how many times I've watched it. I want to be her and is Elliot Cowan the sweetest or what! That smile!
I like Colin Firth too, he has a totally different kind of charm than Elliot though

I love this series! I'm so glad it's available on DVD so those of us in America can watch it! I just wish the DVD hadn't cut out the part where Amanda Price sings. Why was that cut out? Thankfully, I was able to find the scene on YouTube, and it's quite funny.

I love "Pride & Prejudice" in all its incarnations (especially the 1995 version), and I thought "Lost in Austen" was a very entertaining twist. Cleverly original script by Guy Andrews with great lines!

I thought all the actors in the series were perfectly cast. Jemima Rooper as Amanda Price perfectly depicted a modern woman who happens to be enamored of "fictional Georgian England." (And what modern woman isn't enamored of Fitzwilliam Darcy anyway!) Elliot Cowan as Mr. Darcy was excellent. Handsome but not too handsome, unpleasant yet charming, stoic yet passionate...Cowan nailed his role and gave us yet one more Mr. Darcy to swoon over. :)

And what fun the character of Wickham was in this series! Very different from Jane Austen's depiction but fits in perfectly in "Lost in Austen."

"Lost in Austen" is great fun and very romantic for fans of "Pride & Prejudice" or simply fans of a good romance that folds in plenty of chuckle-worthy comedy.

I stayed up until 2 p.m. last night watching the entire series in one fell swoop.

Needless to say - I loved it! I thought (even with some loose ends and perhaps some questionable logic) it was brilliant! Elliot Cowan was great as Darcy and I loved Wickham!

I watched this series with my sister after getting the DVDs from Netflix. My sister gave it a barely passable but I just hated it. I love Pride & Prejudice and all but this was like a bad fan fiction turned into mini-series. Amanda was a Mary-Sue with every male character falling all over themselves for her. It was irritating. It also annoyed me how little everyone's concern for Lizzy was. Plus the door to the world of P&P was never actually explained. No one even seemed to care why it was there! If I had to rate this series from 0 to 5 I would give it a -10.

I will HAVE to watch this soon. The bit about Amanda asking Mr Darcy to climb into the fountain to recreate the lake scene sounds way too interesting as well as the comment that Mr. Darcy is no Colin Firth. Haha.

I adore Lost in Austen. I've never laughed so hard. It's just really, really clever.
You know it's good when they manage to make Wickham the most gorgeous creature on the planet. Haw.

Have just watched the first episode of Lost in Austen and LOVE it! Have to agree with Ms. Price though - Mr. Darcy doesn't float my boat either...definitely not Colin Firth, even if Colin Firth isn't really Colin Firth...or whatever.
