Write like Jane Austen – literally!

Jane Austen fontWhile most of us will never approach Jane Austen’s talent for beautiful prose, we can at least copy her elegant handwriting by installing the Jane Austen font, which is available from dafont.com. It is a most diverting source of not inconsiderable pleasure, and completely free! To install the Jane Austen font using a Windows PC, you will need to download and unzip the folder, and drag the font file onto your desktop. Then, find your Fonts folder, which should be in C->WINDOWS. Next, drag the file from your desktop into this FONTS folder. You should now be able to write and rewrite your favorite Pride and Prejudice lines into your word processor in the style of Jane Austen, and thus delight yourself while baffling your friends.

Just to let you know, if you write something using this font, in an email or a Microsoft Word document for example, the recipient will also need to install it in order to see it in the style you intended.

I will only add, God bless you.
